Setting up and operating audio systems at events
Managing audio department inventory
Staying abreast of current developments in audio technology
Researching new audio technology and making informed purchasing decisions
Supervising and training other audio technicians
Collaborating with account reps to design audio systems for events
A minimum of 5 years of experience
In-depth knowledge of current audio technologies including digital audio consoles
Experience in a corporate event environment
Ability to supervise a team of technicians at an event
Ability to communicate with clients and the provide a high level of customer service
Flexibility to work an ever-changing schedule of nights, mornings, and weekends (including occasional out-of-town travel)
The project manager will act as a liaison between the sales and operations teams. This full time salaried position will primarily work business hours from AV Chicago’s South Loop office with evening and weekend house as projects dictate.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in audio/video/lighting project management/coordination or an experienced audio/video/lighting engineer. This position will project manage numerous events on any given day, coordinating with clients and provide technical, creative and event support to AV Chicago’s sales team. This is a very social role and involves constant contact with producers, clients, venues and suppliers.
The Project Manager will report to the VP of Production.
Providing technical support/design to sales team during the quoting process.
Create room diagrams to determine proper equipment needs.
Contact prospective venues to determine project needs.
Assist with keeping project within budget.
Operations Support :
Identify potential problem areas for setup/show and help recommend solutions.
Provide detailed room diagrams for shows as needed.
Maintain project information within the companies management system.
Assist with developing production schedules.
Assist with scheduling personnel with proper capabilities.
5+ experience in AV production industries.
Excellent technical aptitude and understanding of industry technologies/trends.
Proficient in audio, video, lighting, rigging and set design.
Excellent communication & client facing abilities.
Drafting – CAD, Vectorwerks knowledge preferred.
3D rendering capabilities highly preferred (i.e, 3DS Max)
